SEWEDA and Whitman County Library will host a Whitman County 2020 Census Kickoff Event on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 12-2pm at The Center, 102 S. Main St. Colfax, WA. A (CEDS) Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy update specific to SEWEDA will follow Census presentation. Census Partnership Specialist for Eastern WA Licett Figueroa Garbe will be presenting. Garbe’s presentation will feature the new online option for Census participation, how your information is protected by federal law and include a Q & A session. Garbe will discuss the impacts of Whitman County Census participation and how billions of dollars are allocated every year to health clinics, schools, roads, affordable housing, food assistance and hundreds of other critical services and programs that make a difference in our everyday lives. Garbe will briefly discuss how the Census determines how seats in Congress are distributed amongst the fifty states.

Whitman County Library & SEWEDA encourage hospitals, health clinics, transportation entities, schools, food banks, city/town leaders, elected officials, chambers, non-profits, public services and the public to attend.
