Asotin County is served by an area-wide coordinated dispatch center with enhanced 911 service and wireless GPS locator capabilities. Paramedics cover the area and have access to regional air ambulance services.
The area has two hospitals. St. Joseph Regional Medical Center is a Level 2 Trauma Center and has a Level 3 Pediatrics Unit. Tri-State Memorial Hospital in Clarkston, WA is a Level 4 Trauma Center and has a Dialysis Center. Both facilities are JCAHO accredited.
Health care and social assistance in Asotin County is the largest industry making up 19.8 percent of total employment in 2016. It has been and continues to be a key source of jobs for the county.
Civil Services
The Asotin County Fire Department is the only fire district in the county to guarantee a fire and EMS response 24‐hours a day. Thirty-two volunteer firefighters, 28 emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and 35 paramedics are proud to respond to an average of 2,600 calls per year – 90% of which are EMS-related.
The Asotin County Sheriff Department and Clarkston Police Department have an outstanding group of people who have dedicated themselves to improving the quality of life in the community.

For the past five years, the Port of Clarkston has been investing in fiber optic cable to assure high-speed internet connections across the community.
Airports
The Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport has been instrumental in the growth and prosperity of connecting the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley with the rest of the Pacific Northwest, making it affordable and convenient to travel to and from Asotin County. Other nearby airports include Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport, Spokane International Airport and other General Aviation and Private Airports.
Public Transit
As a means to reduce the number of cars in street, improve air quality, alleviate traffic congestion, Asotin County welcomes the use of public transit. Asotin County Public Transit offers fixed route and on-call services to the Lewiston-Clarkston and City of Asotin area. Lewiston Transit provides service to the area through Lewiston.
Inland Port Facilities
A series of reservoirs behind Snake River dams provide a low cost alternative to shipping commodities and manufactured goods from the Port of Clarkston and the Port of Wilma to the West Coast. Barge service includes bulk and container shipments.
